Welcome to the website for the Office of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Atlanta!
The growing Catholic population in North Georgia continues to bless our Catholic schools with full enrollment in most schools. During the current school year, 11,889 students are being served in our 18 Archdiocesan and five independent Catholic schools. In addition, our 32 parish pre-school programs serve approximately 3,000 children throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
The mission statement for Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Atlanta states, “Our schools are committed to providing quality education in an environment of spiritual, intellectual and moral formation in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.” Excellence in faith formation and outstanding academic preparation are hallmarks of our schools.
The strategic plan for Atlanta Catholic Schools may be accessed below. On-going efforts continue to address the many recommendations that it contains.
In his address to educators at The Catholic University of America in April of 2008, Pope Benedict XVI stated, “Indeed, everything must be done, in cooperation with the wider community, to assure that they [Catholic Schools] are accessible to people of all social and economic strata. No child should be denied his or her right to an education in faith, which in turn nurtures the soul of a nation.” Through our highly regarded financial model for Catholic Schools and through the efforts of our student scholarship organization (G.R.A.C.E. Scholars, Inc.) the Archdiocese of Atlanta remains committed to fulfilling our dual goal of affordable and available Catholic education.
