Fr. Edward B. Branch receiving the Achievement in Religion Award from Brother Christopher K. Norman, Basileus of Eta Omega Chapter

Fr. Edward B. Branch, Ph.D. Recipient of the
2005 ETA Omega Chapter of
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Professional Achievement Award
in Religion

On December 9, 2004, Fr. Branch was presented the prestigious Professional Achievement Award in Religion for his dedicated and successful work in the field of Campus Ministry. Fr. Branch has been involved in the work of Campus Ministry for over twenty years, sixteen of which have been on the Atlanta University Campus. The remaining years were at the Catholic University of America and Grambling State University of Louisiana. He has become the foremost campus ministry expert in the unique academic environment of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities. His creative approach to campus ministry offers an attractive balance of scholarly, social, and spiritual activities that attract and sustain student participation.

The transparency of Fr. Branch’s dedication to his work and his commitment to the holistic maturation of his students are obvious to all who cross the threshold of the Lyke House-Catholic Center at AUC. His students complete their college work and professional training and generally do well in their careers and family life. The Eta Omega Chapter Awards were established in conjunction with the decision of preeminent historian Carter G. Woodson to publicly acknowledge the exceptional Negro achievements in the academy, and other professions and walks of life. Over the years these awards have grown in prominence in the African American community.

Congratulations Fr. Branch for an honor well deserved.
