The Diocese of Savannah has an immediate opening for Superintendent of Catholic Schools effective July 1, 2014.  The Superintendent of Catholic Schools reports to the Secretary for Education and is a member of the Education Secretariat.  The Superintendent of Catholic Schools serves and the chief school administrator providing day to day advice and consultation to pastors and principals; provides guidance and direction on long and short term planning, budgeting, financial, instructional standards, contract and staffing issues.  Candidates must be certified by the Georgia State Department of Education  and possess the minimum of a Master's degree in Educational Administration, PHD preferred, from approved institutions of higher learning.  Candidates must have at least 5 years' experience in the operation of elementary and/or secondary schools, preferably in a Catholic school system, and have an understanding and supportive of the Catholic philosophy of education.  Experience as a superintendent is preferred.
