The organist has right of first refusal for weddings. St Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church is seeking a qualified, energetic, part time Director of Music to lead/direct our children's choir that ranges from grades 1-5 and will also be responsible for developing and building a middle school choir ranging from grades 6-8. These two choirs would alternate singing on Sundays at our 9:30 a.m. mass. We are looking for someone who is proficient at the piano and has a strong voice. This individual would need to be comfortable leading and directing the children from the piano, as well as having the experience of working with children. Other duties would include running two weekly, 45 minute rehearsals, rehearsing instrumentalists as necessary and frequent visitations to lead and sing Wednesday night "life nights" with the children. This person would need to have experience in choosing age appropriate music that engages not only the children's choirs but the congregation as well.
