Guide to the “You Matter” Safe Environment Training Video for Employees,
Volunteers, Clergy and Parents
The "You Matter" Safe Environment Training Video for clergy, principals, employees, volunteers, and parents provides information for adults about sexual abuse. The video is intended to promote awareness, give adults information to help prevent abuse, instruct them how to report abuse, and encourage therapy for abuse survivors.
Before the Video
Before you watch the video, you should download and print a copy of the Safe Environment Adult Compliance Form. (This form has replaced the old Video Acknowledgment Form.) Sign the Adult Compliance Form to acknowledge that you have viewed the Safe Environment video.
Once completed, the Safe Environment Adult Compliance Form should be returned to your manager, parish, or school administrator.
Download the Video
The "You Matter" Safe Environment Training Video is approximately one hour long. For easier downloading, the video has been divided into sections. However, you must watch all sections to receive credit for viewing the video.
The video files are offered as Windows Media files (.wmv) and QuickTime files (.mov). For the .wmv files, you will need Windows Media Player 9 or 10, which you can download for free. If you choose to download the ZIP files, you will need unzipping software, such as WINZIP, which is free.
Note: Because the video files are so large, streaming or downloading the files using dial-up Internet access is not recommended.
Tip: For best viewing, we recommend that you download and save the video to your computer first, and then view the file.

After the Video
After you watch the video, do not forget to complete and submit the Safe Environment Adult Compliance Form.
