Healing The Parish

Outside of yourself and your family, your parish family also suffers when abuse by church personnel occurs. The Victim Assistance Program provides a Parish Response Team (PRT), made up of trained lay-people and clergy, who will help your parish in processing and containing the damage that has been done. The PRT will help parish leaders:

Identify families who will walk side-by-side with you and your family in parish life (with your permission).
Coordinate meetings with contracted mental health professionals (MHP) to debrief the community and to identify other families who may need counseling for their degree of victimization from the perpetrator’s “grooming.”
