The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta

Everything in heaven and earth is yours, O LORD.  Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.   1 Chronicles 29:11-12

Q. Why should I pledge money to my parish?

A. Today we invite people to be more than members of our Church. We call them to be disciples and good stewards. We teach them to live a way of life based on the understanding that all is a gift from God; everything we are and have is freely given for our good. So we should return a portion of our gifts to God in gratitude for God’s abundant generosity. This is the basis for stewardship. Stewardship of time, talent and treasure is another way of worshipping, praising and thanking God.

Each year consider increasing your gift to your parish until you have reached 5% of your income. If you give 5% of your income to your parish; 1% to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal and 4% to other charities you will have reached the biblical tithe!

God has been so generous to you! When do you know that you have given enough of your treasure? When He stops giving to you!
